A teacher at heart, Austin works with clients in a variety of industries to foster growth through better business processes and procedures.
Austin’s goal is to demystify the accounting and reporting process to allow the internal users of financial statements the ability to really use financial information to foster growth.
Prior to striking out on his own Austin was the Vice President of Operations at Dime, a full service bookkeeping firm in Atlanta, GA. In his role at Dime, Austin was responsible for creating and implementing organizational systems, working with the Marketing Manager to set strategy, and working with customers to create systems to maximize efficiency.
In addition to his financial work Austin helped to start a successful social media marketing department at a web design and development company and has been a guest speaker at several conferences on utilizing social media to engage any audience.
He has been quoted in Symantec’s Small Business newsletter, the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Wall Street Journal Online Edition and has guest blogged on a variety of different websites. He is also an in-demand communicator and consultant on topics such as: Small Business Accounting, Non-Profit Accounting, Social Media Marketing, Creating Business Systems, Customer Service, and Business Ethics.
Austin has a bachelor in business administration from Mars Hill College and a master of accounting degree from North Carolina State University. He spent four years in the tax practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and one and a half years in the audit practice at CapinCrouse LLP.
